Descriptive statistics
* describes data
* Measures of central tendency- how well things are clustered( mean median mode)
* Measures of variability- how well things are varied( range, variance,standard deviation)
* Correlation
- Correlation coefficient is used to find strength of a relationship
*there can be 2 modes (bimoadal) or three modes( trimodal) or more and there can be more than one mode
Inferential Statistics
* tells if data means anything
* Makes sure that things aren't by chance
Standard Deviation
*Stat measure of how scores spread around the mean
*big standard deviation- scores are spread out
*small statdard deviation- scores are clustered
* Variance is the square of the standard deviation
